I did my case study on the Boston Celtics push to use social media as much as they could. The Celtics is one of the leading professional teams in taking advantage of the social media websites. They are using these sites to get more people to become Celtics fans and to connect to all of their fans around the world. They have the most fans on their Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/bostonceltics?v=app_154893945255#!/bostonceltics?v=wall) out of all of the NBA teams and they rank second for followers on Twitter( http://twitter.com/bostonCeltics). The part of social media that I thought was the best that they use was the YouTube. They post videos of exclusive videos of locker room footage and other footage of the players off the court. Its neat because you get to see the players personalities off of the court and see how they interact with each other. It is probably their least viewed out of their social media websites but I think it is on the up rise and will do very well. The Celtics make tweets on Twitter by putting up quotes from press conferences and deals on seat upgrades. I think by tweeting about seat upgrades is a great idea because it allows the organization to make some more money and to give the fans a better game experience for a lower price. The Celtics have also updated their website to make it for a better fan experience. They have put a live scoreboard on the website. During game times their is a 100% spike in views on their website. This is because people are taking advantage of the live scoreboard because they can't view the game for whatever reason. The Celtics are working on getting a live feed of the actually game sometime in the next year. This will give the fans around the world a much better chance to follow their team and watch them live. The Celtics have taken advantage of social media better then most professional teams and have used them to the fullest.

I found an interesting article on Accessibility and Social Media. The article talks about the different forms of social media that businesses can use to connect to their customers. It also addresses the problems that some customers will have to accessing these different social media mediums.
Some ways business can take advantage of the social media sites is uploading videos on their product on YouTube, talking to customers via Facebook and Twitter, or putting links on their websites so customers can have direct link to these social media sites. These social media websites also have tools you can use to help connect with customers that have accessibility problems. You can have all of your twitter posts appear on the side of your website so people can just click on the different posts and then sent directly to your business twitter feed. Youtube also makes it so you can put the YouTube videos directly on your website so more customers will be able to view them. The last one the article talks about is Easy YouTube captions. This puts captions in the videos so people that have hearing disabilities can still view your products on the YouTube videos. I think all of these are good ways to help connect to all customers. It helps people that have accessibility problems view your products, there will always be customers that sill won't be able to access it but it does do a lot of help.
